ABOUT

Hi! I’m Lily Patterson a Kentucky Illustrator based in Chicago. I recently graduated with my BFA in Illustration at Columbia College Chicago in May 2026.  There I have studied under and been mentored by illustrators like muralists Cheri Charlton and Cecilia Beavan, NYT best sellers Ivan Brunetti and Jacqueline Alcántara, and celebrated Comic Artist Tim Seeley.

In the fall of my senior year I worked as Project Manager for the gallery Impressions on the Corridor, a collection of work reflecting on the murals in the Wabash Arts Corridor. And in the spring, I completed my Senior Capstone project which is now available to be viewed on the windows of 745 S Wabash. I was also nominated for a total of 6 ILLOs, the CCC illustration program awards, and won Best Digital Illustrator in 2026.

I am primarily a digital artist with a dense background in the Adobe Suite (going all the way back to my freshman year of high school!), but a current preference for Clip Studio Paint. As an artist I am drawn to narrative illustrations like comic’s and graphic novels, motivated by my teenage-self’s deep love for Marvel’s X-men. As a burgeoning illustrator I am often pulling from classic X-men’s tone of soap-opera meets fantasy, which I marry with my own personal style and fascination with European Folklore.

As I come into my own as a professional illustrator I look forward to working with clients to execute their vision for not only narrative work but also poster designs, spot illustrations, and other marketing materials.
