2024 Holiday Market Poster
In 2024, I created the poster Illustration for ShopColumbia's annual Winter Holiday Market, a hallmark of Chicago's South Loop festivities.
My Illustration was featured on posters, flyers, social media posts and was displayed as a large scale window display- complete with fake trees and life-size cutouts!

Taking part in the Holiday Market was a fulfilling and challenging process,
I did a lot of research leading up to my submission. I looked at previous years posters, and at the type of illustration that ShopColumbia seemed to lean towards in it's social media marketing. Typically, their prefered style could be described as cartoon-ish, paper textured, and had a warm feeling to it.
I took that information and used it as influence for my ideation process. I ended up marrying these ideas with my own interest in european folklore, from which I pulled inspiration from Vasilisa the Beautiful and Hans Christian Andersen's The Snow Queen.
This project is really exemplary of my process as an illustrator. When I have a client or a call-for-work, it's very important to me that I understand my audience- while still being true to my aesthetic as an artist. So that I can not only make something I'm proud of, but that the client also loves.
